Grilled Cheesus

Would you be suprised if Jesus appeared to you on a grilled cheese sandwich?  That's what happened to this guy on an episode of Glee that we watched in Bible.  He called it "Grilled Cheesus".  I don't really watch Glee that much, and when I saw this episode, I just thought it was Ok, I problably wouldn't watch it that much. In this episode, the guy kept praying to Grilled Cheesus for terrible things like winning football games and touching a girl innapropriately.  And he got everything he prayed for.  This makes me wonder if the producers of Glee compare our God to some sort of genie or something. And also this episode seemed to make Christians look judgemental.  Like there was this gay guy who didn't really want to become a christian, one reason because he felt that Christians rather judged him for being gay, even though he didn't exactly choose to be.  Some christians really do do that sort of thing. (and yes I did say 'do do').  Overall I think that their view on Christianity is actually almost accurate except that God doesn't give you everything you pray for and that christians are not supposed to judge people for their sins.  Although; I am actually not quite sure what they thought about it.  It just had some truth to it. BTW here's what Grilled Cheesus looked like.

  1. This is a great blog!! You really communicated what you thought about the episode without being biased or judgmental. And I like what you said about Christians being judgemental, becuse it's true. And it takes someone with real faith to see what is wrong with their church and want to fix it. Great Job!!

  2. Zach, you are really funny. Good job on your blog! I agree that God isn't some sort of genie that gives you everything you want.
