special bowling olympics

The other day our sophomore class went to da bowlin' alley to help some mentally challenged people bowl.  Some of them were REALLY good, while others had to use the ramp thing.  The people in my lane had to use the ramp, for they were either in a wheelchair or were simply unable to bowl normally. What I would do is give them da ball and they would put it on the ramp and let it roll.  I felt bad for some people.  I mean the ones who had REALLY bad problems.  Like, there was this one guy who was screaming the whole time, apparently unable to control himself.  It made me wonder why God lets that happen to some people. But I believe that God has a reason for everything to happen.  So, maybe God was using these people to teach us what we learned there.  Otherwise, I think they all had a great time.  They gave out awards to the winning bowla's (bowlers). I don't have much more to say.  I guess they had fun bowlin' in da bowlin' alley.

                                                    Let's go bowlin'

homecoming week-Andy Braner chapel

hey bloggers, here's a blog about Andy Braner.  He's been teaching in chapel for the past homecoming week. He runs a Christian camp called camp Kivu. u can check it out at http://www.campkivu.com/.

Here r some important points that he made:
There are two groups of people: "how" people and "why" people. "How" people are ur scientists who try to figure out how things work. "Why" people are ur philosophers who try to figure out why things work. Andy Braner is a "why".

He also said we should ask the question, "What do I believe?" Ask yourself, "how do i know God is real?" There are two types of truths:
I. Subjective Truth

II. Objective Truth

Subjective Truth is basically our opinion. i.e., is it true that country music sucks and rock music rocks? In my opinion I think so, but not everyone does. Objective Truth is what we know is true.

There are three divisions of religion with their own Objective Truths:
Hindus - worship creation and not the Creator.
Bhudist - worship themselves
Christianity - worship God

And finally, he said that Genesis 1:1 is the main establishment of our belief.  Because if Genesis 1:1 is off, then the whole Bible is off, if you think about it.  So basically, our whole belief is based on Genesis 1:1.

We had a lot of fun this homecoming week, and learned a lot too.  Remember to check out the website at the top.  See ya!!!!:)

racism

What's up bloggers! zachatack here with a blog about racism.

racism is a problem in a lot of areas in our society, even the church.  basically, it is a way people can blame other people for their problems.  how should christians respond to this? We should refer to the Bible, and how it says that we are all created equally.  There is only one race of humans.  There are no blacks, whites, middle browns, there are just people, who have different skin color.

if you have ever looked down on someone because of their skin color, or where they come from, you are sick. That's not even cool. They are no different from you except that they come from different areas (i.e., black people are black because they come from Africa, where it is hot, and it darkens their skin).

So, don't be racist.  God doesn't like it.

This is a blog about friends.  I like my friends to be Christian and to like me for who I am.  I like someone who I can invite to my house often and hang out with when I'm bored.  I also think they should have similar interests with me and if we disagree on something, we don't make fun of each other for it. the Bible says "for there is no greater love than this; that a man lay down his life for a friend." I have a good friend outside of OBA whose name is Corbin Couch. We used to live next door to each other, and are very close.
